Welcome to Big Brothers of Nashville
Big Brothers of Nashville is dedicated to helping Nashville’s needy families with non-recurring financial emergency assistance.
How Does Big Brothers Help?
For nearly 100 years, Big Brothers of Nashville has been the agency that Nashville’s needy families turn to for help during an emergency.
When families, elderly or disabled individuals are experiencing short term difficulties with paying a utility bill, rent, or they need food, Big Brothers will review their situation and provide help. We offer financial assistance on a non-recurring basis as well as have connections with other agencies and service providers to improve the dire situation.
During the holiday season, Big Brothers of Nashville provides Food Baskets to the needy in Nashville. Through our programs, Project Help, Holiday Food Boxes, and Emergency Assistance, Big Brothers serves more than 3,500 families each year.

Annual Paper SaleEach year, for the last 97 years, Big Brothers of Nashville has been joined by volunteers from a variety of civic and community organizations who help distribute a special printed message and solicitation around Nashville during a few select weeks in December.Commonly referred to as the "Annual Paper Sale," this effort raises significant money for the agency which is used to provide emergency food and financial assistance to thousands of needy families in Nashville. Emergency Utiltiy AssistanceFamilies get behind on rent or utilities because of a large medical bill, a job change, an unexpected car repair. Big Brothers can step in to provide the band-aid that makes all the difference.Big Brothers offers yearly one-time rental or utility assistance to families in financial crisis. |
Project HelpAll year round, Big Brothers offers assistance to families to make sure their electricity is not turned off, avoiding freezing in the winter or extreme heat in the summer. Nashville Electric Service contracts with Big Brothers to administer Project Help, funds donated by generous NES customers to help the needy with their electric bills. Read More... |
