Holiday Food Boxes

December is a time to share and to work together. Each December, Big Brothers' volunteers pack and distribute 1,500 food boxes for low-income families, seniors and disabled adults on fixed incomes. Each huge box contains approximately 40 pounds of staple nutritious foods to last a few days: beef stew, peanut butter, a canned ham, juice, milk, rice, potatoes, soup, canned vegetables, beans, corn bread and cake mixes, and more.

Annual Paper Sale

tabloidEach year, for the last 97 years, Big Brothers of Nashville has been joined by volunteers from a variety of civic and community organizations who help distribute a special printed message and solicitation around Nashville during a few select weeks in December. Commonly referred to as the "Annual Paper Sale," this effort raises significant money for the agency which is used to provide emergency food and financial assistance to thousands of needy families in Nashville. We could not do it without our partners and volunteers who deliver the Paper Sale throughout individual communities and among their congregations and members.
