All year round, Big Brothers offers assistance to families to make sure their electricity is not turned off, avoiding freezing in the winter or extreme heat in the summer.. Nashville Electric Service contracts with Big Brothers to administer Project Help, funds donated by generous NES customers to help the needy with their electric bills. Priority is given to persons 60 years of age and older, families with disabled adults or children, and single mothers with minor children.
Big Brothers screens applicants for income and residency eligibility and administers payments directly to N.E.S. Big Brothers also makes referrals to other needed services and programs. For example, an elderly woman received money for her electric bill. In screening, Big Brothers discovered other needs and arranged services through Meals on Wheels and home health care.
You can donate to Project Help from the NES Website.
No applications will be accepted by Mail. You must apply in person for Assistance.
